HARRISBURG, Pa. (WJAC) Rep. Mark Rozzi, D-Berks, a compromise pick to be speaker of the Pennsylvania House amid a political battle over narrow majorities changing hands, announced Tuesday that he was stepping down as Speaker two months after taking the job.

CRESSON -- The State Correctional Institution property, which has remained empty for years, was sold this week. A spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Department of General Services said the property, of more than 300 acres, was sold to Carl Weaver of Smicksburg, Pennsylvania.

Altoona man charged with vehicular homicide following deadly December street race

A 23-year-old Altoona man has been charged with vehicular homicide stemming from a December race that left two people dead. According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 1:50 a.m. on Dec. 22, Caleb Criste, Grant Avenue, and Collie Brown raced each other in vehicles on 10th Avenue in Altoona.
