WESTMONT- The West Hills Regional Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at a local fast food restaurant in Lower Yoder Township.
Captain George Musulin said a suspect walked into the McDonald's on Plaza Drive wearing a mask and armed with a handgun just before 11 p.m. Saturday.
Musulin said an employee was assaulted when the suspect pushed and shoved him or her over the counter.
Police said the black man then directed three employees into the back office where a safe is.
The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash before taking off down Minno Drive.
No guests were at the restaurant when the robbery happened.
Musulin said the suspect is approximately six feet tall and has a slim build.
An investigation is underway as the police department is currently reviewing surveillance video from the restaurant.
McDonald's was closed overnight until about noon Sunday.
