SOMERSET, Pa. (WJAC) — Officials say Somerset Area junior and senior high schools will close for five days after multiple students tested positive for COVID-19.
District Superintendent Krista Mathias says three junior or senior high school students tested positive within the past eight days and two of the case were reported Friday.
Mathias says the district was directed to close the junior and senior high schools for five days including Saturday and Sunday.
The affected students will have virtual learning days Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and will return to in-person learning Thursday, Mathias says.
She says the elementary school will remain open.
