Cambria County, PA — Like many businesses before, a roller-skating rink is now open at the galleria mall. Some locals say they’re skeptical of its longevity, while others continue to show their appreciation. The mall’s owner Leo Karruli says he is happy that this project is finally finished. He also notes other businesses besides the Rink, that are now open, as well. This includes a beauty store near JCPenny's.
The roller rink’s owner, Jacob Moore says it's been a long few months, and the fact that the rink opens today is overwhelming. The flooring was the biggest challenge, Moore notes. This includes the funding and delayed imports, for the tiles and coating.
Locals tell me it seems small, and express concerns about if it will continue to stay in business, because of the location’s high turnover. But note the place looks like a good start for kids.
Moore also notes why he wanted to start this business in the first place. He says he wants to give back to the youth in the community. Specifically, an outreach to socially develop, like Moore says he did, when he was young.
