The owner of a Johnstown restaurant the Stadium Pub & Grill is looking to sell his business, and he is also one of the main organizers of the event looking to step in for Thunder in the Valley.

Patrick Martella, now the president of the Rumble through the Valley association, said he is looking to sell Stadium Pub & Grill in Johnstown because of health issues that he said are minor, just preventing him from working the long hours. He said he will stay involved in Rumble through the Valley.

“I had a lot of well wishes on what's going on, but with that being said one thing has nothing to do with the other,” Martella said. “Rumble will still continue and my commitment to bringing an event to Johnstown is as strong as ever.”

Rumble through the Valley is scheduled to be a one-day event in its inaugural year on June 22nd from noon until 10 p.m. Organizers said they hope to make it a three-day event starting in 2025, and this year will partly be a fundraiser for growing the event.

“We don't want people to have the expectation that this event is going to be spread throughout the Johnstown area throughout downtown,” vice president of the event Duaine Detrick said.

He said there will be a motorcycle run starting at Woodside Bar & Grill and ending at Peoples Natural Gas Park on Johns Street in Johnstown, as well as a classic car show outside the park.

Otherwise, everything will be in the park according to Detrick. He said included in the attractions at PNG Park will be several musical acts and vendors.

Detrick adds that Rumble Through the Valley will be an age 21 and older event.

After about four months the planning is mostly finished organizers said, but they are still looking for more sponsors, vendors, and volunteers.

“We're doing everything we can to keep it local, we just need the support of the local people,” Martella said.
